      赖教授是美国俄克拉荷马大学Anadarko Presidential Professor1978年获台湾清华大学动力机械工程学士学位;1985年和1988年分别获得美国特拉华大学(University of Delaware)机械工程硕士和博士学位。赖教授是多孔介质内传热传质研究领域的知名学者,发表了160多篇研究论文,是AIAAASME SciEI会员,是AIAA Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer副主编,是Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, Open Mechanical Engineering Journal, ISRN Thermodynamics Journal and Scientific World Journal编辑委员会成员。
Dr. Lai is currently an Anadarko Presidential Professor at the University of Oklahoma. He received his B.S. degree in Power Mechanical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 1978, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the in 1985 and 1988, respectively. He joined the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in 1992. Dr. Lai is most well-known for his work in heat and mass transfer in porous media. He has also made important contributions in the field of EHD-enhanced heat and mass transfer. He has published more than 160 technical papers in the archival journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Lai is an Associate Fellow of AIAA, a Fellow of ASME and Fellow of SciEI. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for AIAA Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer as well as in Editorial Board for several open journals (Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, Open Mechanical Engineering Journal, ISRN Thermodynamics Journal and Scientific World Journal).
 
报告内容:
Electrohydrodynamics (EHD) is a study of interactions between flow and electric fields. Some interesting phenomena resulting from these interactions can be put to good use in many engineering applications. However, understanding of these complicated interactions may require knowledge from several fields, and thus it calls for interdisciplinary research. In this presentation, the use of electric field in the form of corona wind to enhance heat and mass transfer will be discussed and demonstrated. Because of the similarity between heat and mass transfer, corona wind has also been applied to drying enhancement. Particularly, the recently discovered superior benefits in applying the plasma flows in medicine will be discussed. The advantages as well as disadvantages of using EHD technique for applications in the industry will also be addressed.
